Town of Ulster - Alice A. Swieca of Flatbush Road died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. She was 95. She was born in East Kingston, a daughter of the late John and Anna Sefcik Saban. Alice married Bronislaus J. Swieca on December 7, 1946 at St. Colman's Church. For many years she worked at Baltz Pajama Factory as a presser and two other area garment factories as head trimmer. A parishioner of St. Colman's Church, for many years Alice tended the flower gardens and belonged to the Altar-Rosary Society. She was a 45+ year member of the East Kingston Ladies Auxiliary and was the last member of the "Yakety Yak Club." Beloved wife of Bronislaus "Brownie" Swieca; loving sister of Martin Saban and his wife Betty of Saugerties, and the late John Saban Jr. and Julia Weider; step sister of the late Mary Swenson and Paul Saban. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday from 11:00 a.m. 12:30 p.m. The funeral procession will then process to St. Colman's Church for a 1:00 p.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Colman's Church, 18 Brigham St., East Kingston, NY 12401.
