Anthony M. Greco

Anthony M. "Tony" Greco, 87, of Lake Katrine, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at Ferncliff Nursing Home. Born in Port Ewen, he was a son of the late Orazio & Maria Sorbello Greco. Tony was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Army. He worked at Hercules and then as a baker with IBM for 33 years. He was a member of the First Capital Travel and a member of the Port Ewen Fife and Drum Corps during the 1960's. Tony was an avid hunter, fisherman and was an excellent cook. Tony is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anne Perry Greco, whom he married on June 7, 1953, a son, Anthony O. Greco of Plantation, FL, a sister, Verna Montalbano of Ulster Park. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Tony will reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Thursday at 9:00 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine Laboure Church. Interment, with military honors by Joyce-Schirick Post 1386 Color Guard, will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
