Anthony Rocco Bergamo

Anthony Rocco Bergamo of Malden Ave., Palenville died October 26, 2007 at Columbia Greene Memorial Hospital. He was 88. He was born in New York City on February 13, 1919, a son of the late Luchino and Mary Scandore Bergamo. An area resident for many years, Mr. Bergamo worked in custodial services at Columbia Greene Community College. A US Navy veteran of WW II, he was awarded the American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Bronze Medal, WW II Victory Medal and Phillipine Liberation Ribbon. His wife Mary Signorini Bergamo died previously. Surviving are one niece JoAnn Durkock of New Milford, CT and one nephew Dennis Calcaterra of Aurora, CO. Many grand nieces and grand nephews also survive. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Palenville on Friday, November 2nd at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Palenville Cemetery.
