Barbara Wanca

Barbara Wanca, 78, of Hurley, died Saturday, February 24, 2018 at HealthAlliance Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born in Orange, NJ, she was a daughter of the late James & Doris Turner Croker. Barbara is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, James Wanca of Hurley, whom she married on June 25, 1977, a daughter Dawn Malone Fortunato and her husband Ben, three siblings, Peter Croker and his wife Maryann of Florida, Margaret (Peg) Moglia and her husband Louis of Manahawkin, NJ and James Croker and his wife Linda of Oxford, NJ, two cherished grandchildren, Caitlin and Matthew and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Barbara was predeceased by her first husband Donald Malone, her son Thomas Malone and her brother Robert Croker. Barbara will forever be remembered for her kind, loving and generous heart. She enjoyed reading, traveling and spending time with family. Prior to moving to Hurley in 1980, she resided in Bloomfield, NJ. Visitation hours will be at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, Kingston, NY on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. A Service will follow at the funeral home at 7:30 PM, with Father Frank Alagna of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, officiating. The funeral service will be at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ on Wednesday, February 28 at 1pm. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Red Cross, PO Box 3864 Church Street Station, New York, NY 10008.
