Bess Plotkin Carey Allentuch, 99, of Kingston, NY, died July 2, 2012, at Golden Hill Health Care Center, Kingston. Born in Worcester, MA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph & Sarah Rebecca Cohen Plotkin. She was a devoted mother whose support for her family was unbounded and profound. Bess worked for the MA Dept. of Public Welfare and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Worcester Jewish Home for the Aged. Bess is survived by her sons, Martin Carey and his wife Susan of Willow, NY, Tobe Carey and his wife Meg of Glenford, NY, Alan Carey and his wife Susan Buckler of Woodstock, NY, a sister Rose Holz and brother Sidney Plotkin, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bess was predeceased by her husband Louis Carey, her second husband Norman Allentuch, a sister, Esther Becker, and brothers Jacob and Abraham Plotkin. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 3rd, at the B'nai B'rith Cemetery in Worcester, MA at 12:00 noon. Friends are welcome to join the family at the home of Alan Carey & Susan Buckler at 106 Ohayo Mountain Road, Woodstock on Wednesday, July 4th from 3-5 and 6-8 PM. The family would like to thank the staff of the Golden Hill Health Care Center for their compassionate care of Bess during her final years. The family requests that any memorial donations be made in memory of Bess Allentuch to the Playground Fund at Center for Spectrum Services, 70 Kukuk Lane, Kingston, NY 12401 or to the Plotkin Garden Fund, Worcester Jewish Health Care Center, Eisenberg Assisted Living 629 Salisbury Street Worcester, MA 01609.
