Beth Boms

Beth Boms of Sheldon Hill Road, Olivebridge died Monday, January 26, 2009 at Benedictine Hospital. She was 58. She was born in Brooklyn on May 11, 1950, a daughter of the late William and Ethel Luban Besterman. Formerly of Brooklyn, she moved to Olivebridge in 1977. A special education teacher, Mrs. Boms received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from SUNY New Paltz. For 14 years she taught at Catskill Elementary School. She retired in June 2007. Beth and Michael were world travelers, Beth enjoyed scrapbooking. Surviving are her husband Michael Boms; her daughter Erica Rachel Boms of Olivebridge; one sister Madeline Besterman of Las Vegas, Nevada; one niece Jordanna Lynne Spaulding and one nephew Ian David Spaulding. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 12:00 p.m. at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston. Rabbinic Assistant, Zoe Zak, will officate. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Rural Cemetery, Route 28, Mt. Tremper. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
