Claire Kirschner Becker

Claire L. Becker of Maple La., Kingston died peacefully, surrouded by her family, Wednesday, November 09, 2011 at Kingston Hospital. She was 76. A native and lifelong Kingston resident, she was a daughter of the late Julius and Grace C. Black Kirschner. A member of Congregation Ahavath Israel and it's Sisterhood, Claire previously assisted as a foster grandmother at Ulster Family Court. She was active in Special Olympics. Beloved mother of Michael Becker at home, sister of Lewis Kirschner and his wife Amy of Town of Ulster, Herbert M. Kirschner and his wife Patty of Waterbury, CT and Stephan W. Kirschner and his wife Vicky of Marietta, GA, aunt of Alan, Lea, Gracie, Philip, Heidi, Jacob and Joseph Kirschner, special friend of Candy and Joe Belles. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 10:30 AM at Simpson Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Rabbi Jen Schlosberg will officiate. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice. Shiva will be observed at the home of Lew and Amy Kirschner on Saturday and Sunday from 6:00 - 9:00 and Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Services will be conducted Saturday at 6:15 PM, Sunday at 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM and Monday at 7:00 PM.
