David Barkin of Center Street, Brookline, Mass. died Monday, January 29, 2007 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston. He was 86.
He was born in Boston, Mass. on March 17, 1920, a son of the late Harry and Minnie Lippman Barkin.
A Kingston area resident for many years, Mr. Barkin worked at I.B.M., Kingston as a main frame technician.
He was a member of Congregation Agudas Achim.
His wife, Mildred Landy Barkin, died February 24, 1988. Two brothers Sam and Ira Barkin died previously.
Surviving are his son Charles Barkin of Kingston, two sisters Deborah Fromer and her husband Joel of Wichita, Kansas and Susan Barkin of Manhattan; one sister Rene Berke of Cape Cod, Mass.; four grandchildren Jana and Gabriella Barkin, Ilana and Seth Fromer; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 12:30 at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht will officiate. Interment will be in the Old Agudas Achim section of Montrepose Cemetery.
