David Kaalund, 44 of Woodstock, died Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Dutchess Center for Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Pawling. Born in New York City, he was a son of Helen Kaalund of New York City. David's greatest pleasures in life were listening to music, dancing in his wheelchair and being surrounded by caring friends and loved ones. He attended the Community Rehabilitation Center program through United Cerebral Palsy of Ulster County for several years. David was known for his contagious smile and his laughter. David leaves his mother behind along with his aunt Iris Campbell of Bronx, many cousins and his extended family at Grant House overseen by Maranatha Human Service, Inc. He will be missed by the many lives he has touched. He is pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, Alexandra Ash Kaalund and Sheffield Kaalund. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave Kingston N.Y. on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery.
