Kerhonkson Dorothy Raymond, who resided in Kerhonkson for over 50 years, died Monday, March 21, 2011 at Kingston Hospital. She was 84. She was born in New York City on June 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Dr. P. Ralph and Agnes DeMott McFeely. She lived with her family in Bogota, New Jersey and graduated from Bogota High School. She was employed in the legal department of American Telephone and Telegraph Company in New York City. A lifelong lover of music, Dorothy studied singing in New York City and sang at the New York Lighthouse International. While living in Kerhonkson, she was a homemaker and employed for a brief time at Martin's Pharmacy. She was a lover of animals and enjoyed the companionship of her cat, Precious, who never left her side while she was ill. Beloved wife of 62 years of Robert H. Raymond, loving mother of Stephen and Shari Raymond of Athol; Susan and Eli Basch of Kingston; grandmother of John Raymond of Albany, sister of the late Elizabeth Valt, lifelong friend of Wilma Anselmo of Hackettstown, NJ. Nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends survive. Dorothy will always be remembered for her love of laughter and her loyal devotion to family and friends. Private services were conducted.
