Edward H. Chapman

Edward H. Chapman, 88, of Vero Beach, FL, formerly of Kingston, died Monday, July 29, 2013 at Indian River Medical Center, Vero Beach, FL. Born in Waterville, CT, he was a son of the late Harry & Nina Seitz Barrett. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the US Marine Corps. He worked for New York Telephone and then for NYNEX, before retiring in 1980. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Ed was a member of the Fair Street Reformed Church and the Community Church in Vero Beach, FL. Ed Chapman will be remembered for his immense generosity, his service to his country and endless love for his family & friends. Edward is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty Jo Wester Chapman of Vero Beach, whom he married on June 15, 1946, a son, Mark S. Chapman and his wife Joanne of Hurley, three grandchildren, , Kalli Chapman and her husband Nicholas Mitchell of Brooklyn, Jesse Travis and Casey Elizabeth Chapman, both of Hurley, one aunt, Edith Seitz, two nephews, one niece and many dear friends including Malcolm D. Schick, Esq and Lee Kalish. In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by a son, Gary E. Chapman and a brother, Seymour Chapman. Service and interment will be private
