Edward R. Cooper

Edward R. Cooper of Broadway, West Park died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital, Albany. He was 62. He was born in Albany on March 19, 1946, a son of Antoinette Corella Cooper Johnson and the late Asa Cooper. An area resident for many years, Mr. Cooper has owned and operated Ed Cooper Paving, in Lake Katrine, Spring Valley and New Rochelle. His step mother, Bessie Elizabeth Cooper died previously. Surviving are his wife Rosemarie Cooper; one son Joseph Pierce of Schenedtady, four daughters Yvonne Cooper of West Sand Lake, Roseann Cooper of Clifton Park, Charlotte Martinez of Kingston and Shauna Cooper of North Carolina; his mother Antoinette Cooper Johnson of Saratoga,; four brothers Gary Cooper of Freehold, Asa and Richard Cooper both of Saratoga and LeGrande Cooper of CT; nine sisters Charlotte Cooper of Saratoga, Sophie Busher of CA, Gloria Cooper of RI, Amey and Jeanie Cooper both of Troy, Catherine Cooper of MA, Mary Hall of GA, Elizabeth Squires of Mechanicville and Carrie Ingleston of Delmar; eight grandchildren Edward, Alexxiss, Julia, Isabella, Anthony, Dominic, Robert and Adrianna; many nieces and nephews. Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Jospeph's Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Wiltwcyk Cemetery.
