Ella E. Garrity

Ella E. Garrity of Linderman Avenue Extension, Town of Ulster died Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at the Golden Hill Health Care Facility. She was 84. She was born in East Kingston on March 22, 1923, a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Mary R. Bostel Eigo, Sr. For many years Mrs. Garrity worked as a seamstress in area garment factories. Her husband Daniel Garrity, three sisters Katherine and Marie Eigo and Frances Powers, two brothers Michael and Thomas Eigo, all died previously. Surviving are her son Andrew "Mike" Balash of the Town of Ulster; two sisters Margaret "Peg" Alecca of East Kingston and Cecelia Kimbark of Florida; many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday 2-4 and 7-9. The funeral procession will form on Saturday at 10:45 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at 11:30 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
