Ernest Edward Quick Sr. of Stone Road died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Kingston Hospital. He was 68.
He was born April 9, 1936 in Olive Bridge, a son of the late Wilson and Della Miller Quick.
He was employed as a landscaper for Kessman Landscaping at IBM in Kingston for over 30 years and he helped his son run E. Quick’s Landscaping. He also was a groundskeeper at Benedictine Hospital.He was an avid hunter and a great fisherman, who loved to spend most of his time outdoors and with his family. He was a great, kind and gentle man that loved the world as well as his family. He loved the lord and attended the Shokan Wesleyan Church on a regular basis. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. But now he is home, with his family in the gates of heaven with our lord and savior Jesus Christ.
Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Hattie Barley Quick, a daughter, Bonnie Shields of Glasco, five sons, Ernest Jr., Donald and Peter all of West Hurley, Gordon and Michael of Lake Katrine, a sister, Helen Rotella of Phoenicia and a brother, David of Hudson. Twenty-four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston, Wed. from 2- 4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thur. at 12:00 noon. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Shokan Wesleyan Community Church Landscaping Fund, 19 Dubois Road, Shokan, NY 12481.
