Esther Dean

Esther Dean, formerly of Dutch Village Apts., Kingston died Monday, March 19, 2007 at Boca Raton Community Hospital in Boca Raton, FL. She was 97, She was born January 29, 1910 in New York City, a daughter of the late Morris Wolf and Rose Brenner Friedman. Mrs. Dean was a member of Congregation Agudas Achim and a former member of Temple Emanuel. She was an avid golfer and a former member of Wiltwyck Country Club. She had been active in many civic and religious organizations over the years. Her husband, Dr. William B. Dean died August 20, 1974. Surviving is her son, Dr. Mark Dean and his wife Susan of Vail, CO and her daughter, Bunny Copeland of Boca Raton, FL. Five grandchildren, Michael Dean, Risa Holmes, Debby O'Connell, Deena Copeland and Bill Copeland; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. A sister, Sydney Hinderstein and three brothers, Jack, Isisdore and David Friedman died previously. Graveside services will be held on Thursday at 12:30 pm in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston. Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht will officiate. Arrangements are by Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kignston.
