Fannie Marello Carpino

Fannie Marello Carpino of Crane Street, Kingston Point died Tuesday, December 13, 2005 at Ten Broeck Commons. She was 88. Born in Glasco on January 5, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Pasquale 'Patsy' and Antoinette Martino Marello. A long-time area resident, Mrs. Carpino worked for many years at area dress factories as a seamstress in both Saugerties and Kingston. She also co-owned and operated the Fountain Lounge, Kingston from 1957 - 1986. Mrs. Carpino was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church and a member of the Altar-Rosary Society. Her husband Charles R. Carpino died March 27, 1995. Three brothers Louis and Charles Marello, Michael 'Oscar' Marelli and three sisters Rose and Susan Marello and Mary Colao all died previously. Surviving are two sisters Jennie Crocco of Hyde Park and Frances Carpino of Kingston; one brother Frank Marello of Kingston; many nieces and nephews. Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Friday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
