Frances Schechter

Frances Schechter, 87, passed away on May 15, 2018, at Woodland Pond, New Paltz, NY. Born in Boston, MA, she was a daughter of the late Casper & Alice Tristman Zelickman. Frances was a special education teachers assistant for many years in Kingston, NY. She enjoyed playing bridge, singing, writing humorous poems, and reading. Her favorite moments were spent with her family. To her beloved family, Frances was their style, wit, sweet tooth; their storyteller, professional worry wart and Yiddish Dictionary. Frances is survived by her husband of 68 years, Saul, daughters Jackie Schechter, Marlene Schechter (Jack Behan), grandchildren Rebecca Adams, Zachary Connors (Yanizy Connors), and sister Evelyn Weiner. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 17, at 11:00 AM, at Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home; 411 Albany Avenue, with Rabbi Yitzchok Hecht, from Congregation Agudas Achim, officiating.
