Frederick D. Poag of Griffin Drive, Hurley died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at the Golden Hill Health Care Center. He was 83. He was born July 26, 1923 in Oak Park, IL a son of the late Robert O. and Grace Dincher Poag. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan and received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University. He resided in Buffalo until moving to Kingston in 1960. For 28 years, he served as a patent attorney for I.B.M in Kingston, retiring in 1987. He was a member of the NYS Bar Association. Mr. Poag was a member of St. Joseph’s Church and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Hurley Heritage Society and a former member of the board of Benedictine Hospital. On May 31, 1948 he married Constance “Connie” Hartman. Mrs. Poag died November 15, 2006. Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Poag Longeway and her husband, John of Wauwatosa, WI; Molly Poag and her husband, Matthew Pearson of Irvington and the late Deborah Anne Poag; grandfather of Maureen and Grace Longeway and Graham and Harry Pearson; brother of the late Robert Poag. Two nieces and a nephew also survive. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Monday from 6 – 9 pm. A funeral procession will form on Tuesday at 9:15 am from the funeral home. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am in St. Joseph’s Church, Kingston. Interment will be in Hurley Cemetery.
