Genevieve A. Synnott of Creekside Road, Hurley died Thursday, September 23, 2004 at TenBroeck Commons Nursing Home. She was born in Wausau, Wisconsin a daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Anna Melchkardt Reynolds. Mrs. Synnott lived in Oswego from 1957 - 1962. A longtime resident of Watson Lane, Kingston, she was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church. Mrs. Synnott was a member of the Columbiettes, Kingston Council #275. Her husband Gordon O. Synnott died January 14, 1986. Two brothers John and James Reynolds, one sister Pearl Hardell and one grandson Joseph Wallace all died previously. Surviving are two daughters Jamie Ann Hughes of Hurley and Kathleen M. Wallace of Oswego; five grandchildren Shawn Hughes, Ann Hughes Stowell, William Hughes, Jill Hughes and Jason Wallace; six great grandchildren Jessica Stowell, Joshua Cuff, Austen Hughes, Zachary Cuff, Addison Wallace and Madeline Wallace, many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Avenue on Sunday from 2-5 PM. The funeral will be Monday at 9:30 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Wiltwyck Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, 1325 G Street NW, Suite 770, Washington, DC 20005-3104.
