George Joseph Silverberg

George Joseph Silverberg of Fairmont Ave., Kingston died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 91. He was born in Brooklyn, the son of the late Harry and Jennie Yaravinsky Silverberg. Mr. Silverberg graduated from Kingston High School where he played varsity basketball. An army veteran, he served in Germany during WW II. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and Kingston American Legion Post 150. He was co-owner of the Boston Cleaners and Dyers with his sister, Sarah. His wife, Grace Miller Silverberg and his twin sister, Rose Nussbaum died previously. Surviving is his sister, Sarah Schwartz of Kingston. Three nephews, Alan Schwarts, Ira Nussbaum and Harry Nussbaum and several cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, 12:00 PM at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston. Rabbi Jesse Olitzky will officiate. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of one's own choice.
