Gertrude H. Yerry

Gertrude H. Yerry of Clinton Avenue died Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at Kingston Hospital. She was 67. She was born in Sleightburg on November 11, 1936, a daughter of the late Ullman Ernest Odell and Gertrude Harriet Shoemaker Odell Augustine. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Yerry was charitable, a great cook, and enjoyed the casinos. For 23 years she was employed at the Kingston Hospital house-keeping department. She retired in September of this year. Her son Ernest U. Yerry died September 2, 1999. Longtime companion of Raymond Marshall; loving mother of Duane Yerry and his wife Elaine May-Yerry and the late Ernest U. Yerry; step daughter of Joseph Augustine; sister of Marilyn Piney, Fran Tyler, Marjorie Ziegler, Bonnie Augustine, Carol Scarselli, Joseph and James Augustine; grandmother of Amber, Heather, Duane and Michael Yerry; great grandmother of Kyle and Malachi Yerry. Many nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be conducted on Monday at 12:00 at Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. Inurnment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
