Hava Teague, 67, of Poughkeepsie, New York, died on January 2, 2015, after a prolonged illness. Born May 17, 1947, in Haifa, Israel, she was the daughter of Yosef and Mina Artzi. She grew up in Ramat Gan, Israel, where she graduated from high school. Afterward, she served in the Israeli Defense Forces as an army cartographer during the Six Day War. After military service, she studied for five years at the prestigious Academia de Bella Arti in Florence, Italy. She graduated with a degree in Stage Design and worked in Italy and Paris. She returned to Israel and taught art and drafting in high school and worked as a fine artist. Later in the 90's she moved to Poughkeepsie, New York where for over a decade she taught Hebrew classes and tutored many students at Temple Beth El and Vassar Temple. Hava married David Teague in August 1979, and she is survived by her son Tom and her two brothers, Menachem and Israel. Hava was well known for her kindness and great love of children and dogs. She was a humble person and was always cheerful and friendly. Hava served her family and the Jewish community for many years and will be greatly missed. Services and interment will be privately held.
