Helen T. Walker

Helen T. Walker, formerly of Derrenbacher St., Kingston, died Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Hunter's Creek Nursing Home, Orlando, FL. She was 90. She was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late Frank and Theresa Soda Mitchell. Mrs. Walker previously worked at the former VanSlyke Horton Cigar Factory, Kingston. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, Kingston. She has lived in Florida since 1991. Her husband, Paul I. Walker died March 16, 1991. Five brothers Ralph, Earl, Albert, Joseph and James Mitchell and two sisters Mary Boughton and Florence Rittie all died previously. Surviving are one daughter Dova J. Walker of Kissimmee, Florida, one son Guy J. Walker of Orlando, Florida; two granddaughters Brandi J. Harkness and Shanna M. Harkness, many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will celebrated on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, 12:00 noon at St. Joseph's Church. Inurnment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston. Arrangements are by Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston.
