Henry P. Kwasnowski, DMD

Dr. Henry P. Kwasnowski, D.M.D., who maintained a dental practice in Kingston, NY for 40 years, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 in Van Nuys, California. He was 84. He was born in Hudson, NY on November 9, 1922, a son of the late John and Helen Kwasnowski. Dr. Kwasnowski graduated Alliance College, PA and then Tufts Dental School in Boston, MA. Dr. Kwasnowski served in the US Army during WW II in the European Theater of Operations. In 1955 he started his dental practice in Kingston, NY. Dr. Kwasnowski was a former member of the Kingston Lions Club and a parishioner of St. Joseph's Church. He retired from his North Front Street office in 1995. 'Hank spent much of his leisure time with his close friends. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, poker club, Saratoga in August, and the horses.' His wife, Rosemary Malone Kwasnowski died November 23, 1996. He has been a resident of Northridge, CA for several years. Surviving are four daughters Ellen Collins and her husband Corky of Charlotte, NC, Laurie Miller and her husband Jon of Carson City, Nevada, Meg Latour and her husband Steve of Charleston, SC, and Amy Kwasnowski of Hollywood, CA; three sons David Kwasnowski and his wife Linda of Kingston, Michael Kwasnowski of Los Angeles, CA, James Kwasnowski and his wife Rochelle of Columbus, Ohio; one sister Sophie Melnyck of Wayne, NJ; one brother John Kwasnowski of Horseheads, NY; ten grandchildren, Sarah Therrell, Lisa, David, Andrew, Nicole, Elizabeth and Lauren Kwasnowski, Jordan, Annie, and Jack Miller, and many nieces and nephews. A daughter Lisa Kwasnowski died May 5, 1966. One brother Sam Kwasnowski, a sister in law Stella Kwasnowski and a brother in law Jules Melnyck all died previously. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Avenue on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Friday at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Msgr. O'Reilly Hurley Mission of St. Joseph's Church on Zanhoek Road, Hurley at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Hurley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the 'Kingston Lions Club' (Scholarship Committee), PO Box 3433, Kingston, NY 12402.
