Jack Doyle

John G. “Jack” Doyle of Otis Street died Tuesday, September 21, 2004 at TenBroeck Commons Nursing Home. He was 77. He was born in Kingston on June 3, 1927, a son of the late James Michael and Catherine L. Keating Doyle. Mr. Doyle was a St. Joseph’s School graduate and class of 1945 Kingston High School graduate. He immediately entered service with the US Army Air Corps during WW II. He served in the Phillippines and was honorably discharged as a sergeant. Mr. Doyle worked as a district sales manager for Greenhouse in Albany for 32 years. He retired in 1987. A past Commander and Finance Office for the Kingston American Legion Post 150, he was active for many years in Post 150’s Baseball Program. He served as former Ulster County American Legion Baseball Chairman. A member of the Joyce – Schirick Post 1386, he was an avid New York sports fan. His wife Hilda Layman Doyle died September 14, 1991. One sister Margaret Mary Doyle and one brother James Doyle both died previously. father of James M. Doyle and his wife Dr. Denise Assogna, and Jay R. Doyle and his wife Laura, and Janet M. Doyle; brother of Patricia A. Doyle and the late Margaret Mary Doyle and James Doyle. Reposing at the Simpson – Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Friday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church at 10:00 AM. Interment wil lbe in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 102454, Atlanta, GA 30368-2454.
