Jeanette Martino

Jeanette K. Martino, 88, of Kingston, died Friday, November 01, 2013 at HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus. Born in Kingston, she was a daughter of the late J. Austin & Carolyn Macdonald. Jeanette was a graduate of Kingston High School, 1944 and The Benedictine Hospital School of Nursing, 1947. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, RSVP, The Benedictine Alumni Association and a parishioner of St. Joseph Church. She was an avid gardener, knitter, bridge player and New York Yankee fan, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Jeanette is survived by her four children, John F. Martino of Lomontville, Carol Jean Schrowang and her husband Robert of Hurley, Paul J. Martino of Town of Ulster and Peter F. Martino and his wife Rhonda of Seattle, WA. Five grandchildren, John F. Martino Jr. and his wife Cristi, Jennifer Martino, Joshua Martino, Robert Schrowang Jr., Paul Martino Jr., Skylar Martino and Sophia Martino and two great grandchildren, Jake and Giani Martino. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, Jeanette was predeceased by her husband Frank J. Martino who passed in 1992 and her brothers; Robert Macdonald in Sept.2013 and John Macdonald in 1950. Jeanette will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday, November 4, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Nightingale service will be conducted at 5:30 PM. The funeral procession will form on Tuesday from the funeral home at 9:00 Am. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
