Jeannine M. Smith, of Stoll Court, died December 12, 2011 at her home. She was 88. A lifelong area resident, she was born in Kingston, a daughter of the late John C. Gue and Wilhemina "Minnie" Henninger Gue Kelsey. She married Harold F. Smith on February 12, 1950. A graduate of the Benedictine School of Nursing, from 1944 - 1951 she worked as an obstetrics nurse at Benedictine Hospital. For 24 years Jeannine then worked for Dr. Vincent Amatrano, Kingston and retired in 1980. Jeannine was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America,) and an Alumna of the Benedictine School of Nursing. Jeannine and Harold enjoyed traveling. Beloved wife of Harold F. Smith, loving mother of the late John M. Smith who died September 5, 1999, sister of the late LeGrand Gue, sister in law of Kathryn "Kiki" Dulin of Lake Katrine, Ruth Errington of Minden, NV and the late Emily Coffey, Helen Emmick, Mary Savatgy and Alfred E. Smith. Many nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. A nurses "Nightingale Service" will be conducted on Wednesday at 7:30 PM. The funeral procession will form on Thursday at 9:15 AM. A Funeral Service will be conducted at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 104 Wurts St., Kingston at 10:00 AM. Rev. James Rowe will officiate. Interment will follow in Wiltwyck Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Foundation, Inc., or Redeemer Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
