Jerome Siegel

Woodstock- Jerome “Jerry” Siegel of Woodstock and Lauderhill, FL died Monday, October 20, 2003 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 82. He was born in Brooklyn on August 10, 1921, a son of the late Abraham and Dorothy Forman Siegel. Formerly of Brooklyn, Mr. Siegel served in the US Army during WW II. On November 1, 1947 he married Bernice Milgram. A graduate of Brooklyn College, Mr. Siegel received an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He worked for several corporations in New York City and Philadelphia, PA as an Industrial Engineer. He was the Executive Director of Union Temple, a Reform Jewish Congregation in Brooklyn. He also served as Adjunct Professor of Business Management at Baruch College of Business, CUNY. Mr. Siegel was affiliated with the North American Federation of Temple Brotherhoods (NFTB) and the Jewish Chautauqua society (JCS). He was vice-president of NFTB for several terms. Mr. Siegel maintained a second residence in Lauderhill, FL for the past several years. He was a member of Nova Southeastern University’s Institute for Learning in Retirement where he frequently lectured on a variety of subjects. In 1988 Mr. Siegel moved to Woodstock. Over the past 15 years, he was a member of Temple Emanuel of Kingston, served on the Board of Trustees and was President of its Brotherhood. Surviving in addition to his wife of 56 years are two daughters, Joy Gross of Woodstock and Gail Pazan of Glen Rock, NJ; one sister, Rital Gitlin of Haworth, NJ, three grandchildren, grandfather of Carly Gross, Rebecca and William Lindsey and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 3:00 pm at Temple Emanuel, 243 Albany Ave., Kingston. Rabbi Romer will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery. . Shiva will be observed at the Siegel residence. Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish Chautauqua Society (JCS), 633 3rd. Ave., NY, NY 10017-6778.
