Joan Tessie T. Halwick

Joan T. "Tessie" Halwick of East Side Hill, Ruby died Monday, June 22, 2009 at her home. She was 76. She was born in Kingston on August 11, 1932 a daughter of the late Angelo and Violet Walter Closi. Joan married Harold J. Halwick on January 27, 1951. He died May 26, 2007. An avid gardiner and reader, Joan enjoyed all of her pets Dinky, Boy, Girl, Tuffy and Chloe. One brother Walter Closi and one sister Nancy Mungavin both died previously. Surviving are three daughters Debbie Martin and her husband Dick of Plains, Montana, Sherry Ralph and her husband Tim of Ruby and Tracy McGinnis and her husband Bob of Ruby; one son Jimmy Halwick and his wife Denise of Saugerties; one brother Arthur Closi of Florida, one sister Carol Zangla of Leeds; seven grandchildren Tony Martin, Alisha Jarrett, Logan Halwick, Jimmy Brown, Michael Zehnick, Angelo Ralph and Britny Malloy; five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday at 12:00 by Rev. Thomas C. Goodhart.
