John H. Tiano, Sr.

Kingston- John H. Tiano Sr., of Brewster St. died Wednesday, June 09, 2004 at home. He was 81. He was born October 21, 1922 in East Kingston, a son of the late Luigi and Maria Naccarato Tiano. Mr. Tiano served in the army during WW II and was a life member of Joyce-Schirick Post 1386 VFW. He enjoyed fishing. He was retired from the Kingston Board of Public Works. On July 26, 1947 he married Margaret M. Curlin who survives at home. Loving father of Patricia Tiano Allen and her husband, Steven of Kingston; John H. Tiano Jr. of Kingston; Lisa Tiano Gajdos and her husband Paul of Highland and the late Louis Tiano; brother of Josephine Perry of Kingston, Frances Yonnetti of Bloomington and the late Rosemary Tiano, Elizabeth Chick, Theresa Salvino, James and Frankie Tiano; grandfather of Jaimee, Meghan and Seth Allen; Amy and Kristin Tiano and Nicolas and Beth Tiano; great-grandfather of Madison and Reagan Allen. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 am. At 10:00 am, a funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Colman’s Church in East Kingston. Burial with military honors by Joyce-Schirick Post 1386 VFW Color Guard will be in Wiltwyck Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Hospice Foundation, 34 Broadway, Kingston, NY 12401.
