John J. Lynch of Caroga Lake, NY, Palm City, FL., and formerly of West Shokan, NY in the Town of Olive, died May 13, 2010 at his home. He was 76. He was born in Albany, a son of Helen Bartkowski Lynch and the late Joseph Lynch. In 1951 he graduated High School from the Vincentian Institute, Albany, NY and in 1955 from St. Michaels College with a bachelor's degree in Sociology. Mr. Lynch was a Captain and Pilot in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1958 and again from 1961 to 1962 during the Berlin Crisis. He served in the Air Force Reserves thru 1968. An Albany Law School graduate, he practiced Law in Kingston, NY from 1963 until retirement in 2002. A member of the NYS Bar Association, he served as Assistant Ulster County Attorney, Attorney for the Ulster County Office of the Aging, and Law Clerk for the late and Honorable Judge Bernard Feeney of Ulster County Family Court. Mr. Lynch was an avid golfer and former member of Wiltwyck Golf Club, Martin Downs and Evergreen Country Club. A sailor and fisherman, he was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather. Survivors include his mother, Helen Lynch of Albany, his wife of 33 years, Kathryn Schwalbach Lynch, two sons Drue Lynch of Phoenicia and Sean Lynch and his wife Wendy of Medway, Mass, one brother Edmund Lynch and his wife Patricia of Colorado, three granddaughters Kelsey, Julia and Diana all of Medway, Mass., and grandson, Dylan Thomas of Phoenicia, NY, three aunts Anne Vogel, Fran Barkowski and Margorie Grant all of Albany, several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A brother, Thomas Lynch died in 1984. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston, NY on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church, 80 Mansion St., Coxsackie, NY 12051 (518-731-8567.) on Tuesday, May 18th at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
