John Perry of Pine Place, Town of Ulster died Friday, June 17, 2011 at his home. He was 87. Born on Gill St., Ponckhockie, he was a son of the late Ralph and Louise Spadafora Perry. John enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1942 and served in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He came home in 1946, worked on the tugs and then re-enlisted in 1947. John sustained wounds in action against the enemy in Korea. He was awarded a Purple Heart. He met Ruby C. Cox while they were both serving in Korea, they married December 22, 1951. They lived in Charleston, SC for five years and then returned to Kingston. John worked at Hudson Cement until retirement in the early 1980's. He later worked at Shop Rite and Canfield Supply, Kingston. Beloved husband of the late Ruby Perry; loving father of Brian J. Perry of Town of Ulster and the late Craig T. Perry; brother of the late Roscoe, Louis and Dominic Perry, Josephine Fabiano, Julia Russo, Ann Pierson, Angela Brocco, and Helen Turck. Many nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday from 3:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
