Joseph A. Colao Sr.

Kingston- Joseph A. Colao Sr. of Smith Ave. died Sunday, December 5, 2004 at Benedictine Hospital. He was 90. He was born January 7, 1914 in the Bronx, a son of the late Anthony and Frances Trappaso Colao. Mr. Colao was self-employed as a mason contractor. He owned several apartment buildings and enjoyed fishing and boating. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church. Loving husband of Margaret Stapleton Colao for 66 years and father of Joseph A. Colao Jr. and his wife Jocelyne of Vienna, VA Marie Steedle and her husband, Edward of Lake Katrine, NY, Marjorie Pullman and her husband, William of Port Ewen, NY and brother of the late Vera Ninia, Marie Uhl, Emanuel “Mannie”, August and Frederick Colao. Beloved grandfather of Danny Steedle, Claire Rowan, Sabrina Colao, Joseph Colao III and great-grandfather of E.J., Alyssandra, Gia, Kyla and William. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The funeral procession will form on Thursday at 9:15 am from the funeral home. At 10:00 am a funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
