Kathryn O. Kennedy

Kathryn O. Kennedy of Walton Lane, Hurley died Thursday, March 2, 2006 at Golden Hill Health Care Facility. She was 85. She was born in Kingston on February 3, 1921, a daughter of the late Chester S. and Kathryn Finan Osterhoudt. A graduate of Our Lady of Victory Nursing School of Benedictine Hospital, class of '42, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Benedictine Hospital and Kingston Hospital. For 17 years, Mrs. Kennedy then worked at the office of Dr. Hamilton Boyd. She then worked, for 37 years, for Dr. Sam Stein. A parishioner of St. Joseph's Church, she belonged to the Hurley Heritage Society. Her brother, Captain Peter C. Osterhoudt, USMC died in 1995. She is survived by her son Bruce D. Kennedy and his wife Susan of Orchard Park; her daughter Karen K. McDermott of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; her grandchildren Liam McDermott and his wife Liana of Victoria, British Columbia; Adam McDermott and his wife Michele of New Orleans, Meaghan McDermott of New Orleans, Alexandria 'Ali' Kennedy and Emma Grace Kennedy both of Orchard Park; one niece Patricia Osterhoudt; one nephew Michael Osterhoudt. Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be Tuesday at 9:15 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church at 10:00 AM. Inurnment will be in the Hurley Cemetery in the spring.
