Lisa C. Barnes, 53, of Kingston, died Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at her home.
Born in Miami, FL, she was the daughter of the late Gerald Capes & Donna Capes.
Lisa was a loving mother, wife and friend. She cut men’s hair in the Kingston area for 25 + years and provided a place where many could talk about their triumphs or their struggles in addition to getting a fresh cut. Lisa was an avid reader in her down time and loved planning and going on vacation to the Caribbean region.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 16 years, Johney Barnes of Kingston, whom she married on November 28, 2002, a daughter, Tylynn Barnes of Kingston and a sister, Cheryl Capes.
The family will receive friends at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave, on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM.
A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Doris Schuyler of Riverview Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment of Lisa’s cremated remains will be held privately.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Suicide Prevention Services, 2269 Saw Mill River Rd, Elmsford, NY 10523.
