LAKE KATRINE Lorraine A. LaRocca (nee Gardeski) died at Ten Broeck Commons on Thursday, July 22, 2010. She was 78. A native and lifelong East Kingston resident, Mrs. LaRocca was born on October 23, 1931, one of 4 children born to the late Joseph and Hazel Palen Gardeski. She was predeceased by her husband Vincent(Junie) LaRocca on March 7, 2005. In addition to raising her children, Mrs. LaRocca worked for many years as a bookkeeper and administrative assistant throughout the Kingston area and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Colman's Church. Survivors include three daughters Loreen Hackwelder of Marietta, NY, Jolene LaRocca of Rochester, NY and Donna Gulotty of Voorheesvile, NY; one son Vincent J. LaRocca, Jr. of Santa Barbara, CA, five grandchildren, three brothers Joseph Gardeski of Closter, NJ, Donald Gardeski of Preston Hollow, NY, Raymond Gardeski of Clifton Park, NY; and many nieces and nephews. Per Lorraine's request there will be no public calling hours or services. Memorial Donations may be made in her name to either: Ten Broeck Commons Residents Council, One Commons Drive, Lake Katrine, NY 12449 or Fisher Center for Alzheimer's Research Foundation, One Intrepid Square, West 46th Street & 12th Avenue, New York, NY 10036. Her children, and grandchildren would like to thank the wonderful staff of Ten Broeck Commons, especially the staff of the Esopus Unit who treated her with love and tenderness during the past six years. They also would like to thank the rest of their family and friends for all of their outstanding care, compassion, and support throughout the years.
