Louise Walz of Genesee Ave., Lake Katrine died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Ten Broeck Commons Nursing Home. She was 85. She was born in Glasco, a daughter of the late Alexander and Josephine DePasquale Corrado. Mrs. Walz retired in 2000 as a school lunch aide for the Kingston Consolidated School District. She was a member of St. Catherine Laboure Church. She enjoyed bingo and trips to Atlantic City and Mohegan Sun. On June 3, 1961, she married James M. Walz. Surviving in addition to her husband is her daughter, Cindy Gotta and her husband Jeffrey of Middletown, CT; one brother, Salvatore Corrado and his wife Mary of Lake Katrine; a sister, Marie Christiana and her friend, Bill Lawrence of Saugerties; two grandchildren, Steven Michael and Matthew James Gotta; two nieces, Susan Horton and JoAnn Steward. Many other nieces and nephews also survive. Two brothers, Benny and Kildy Corrado and a sister, Rosie Corrado died previously. Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston on Friday from 4 - 8 PM. The funeral procession will form on Saturday at 9:00 AM at the funeral home and process to St. Catherine Laboure Church in Lake Katrine for a 10:00 AM funeral Mass. Fr. John Kearney will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Mary of the Snow Cemetery, Saugerties.
