Marguerite Margot Parent

Marguerite Phyllis “Margot” Gagnon Parent, formerly of Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie, died Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh. She was 67. She was born in Van Buren, Maine on September 28, 1939, a daughter of the late Gerald B. and Hazel Dart Gagnon. Margot was raised in Van Buren, Maine, moved to the Hudson Valley in 1959 and lived in Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. For over 23 years Margot worked as an X-Ray technician at St. Francis Hospital, as well as several more years managing radiology departments for various medical facilities in Dutchess and Ulster Counties. Margot was a spiritual counselor for over 30 years including serving many of these years at the Awareness Shop in New Paltz. Surviving are two daughters Faith Parent Hendrickson and her husband Tom of Cary, NC and Jill Ammor of Carrollton, TX; two grandchildren Kaitlin Faith and James Thomas Hendrickson; two sisters Kay Richmond of Machias, Maine and Judy Selle of St. Johnsbury, VT; several nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Monday 2-4 and 7-9. A service of remembrance will be conducted on Tuesday at 12:00 at the funeral home by Judith Boggess.
