Michael Benicase of Harwich St., Town of Ulster died Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Golden Hill Health Care Center. He was 91. He was born in Kingston, a son of the late Frank and Susan Amato Benicase. Mr. Benicase married Genevieve Hutter on May 9, 1948. For over 25 years he worked at Schatz Federal Bearing in Poughkeepsie. Mike was proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed gardening his fig tree and grape vines. He was a member of the Benevolenze Associazione Santa Maria and was a parishioner of St. Catherine Laboure Church. He was an avid fisherman and bowler. Four brothers, Joseph T. and James Benicase, Thomas "Pete" Benincas and Charles Benincasa all died previously. Surviving are his wife of 61 year, Genevieve Hutter Benicase; one daughter Cynthia Sinharoy and her husband Balaram of Poughkeepsie; three brothers Frank "Hank" Benicase of Kingston, Samuel Benicase of Kingston and Thomas Martino of Kingston; four sisters Rose Grube of Kingston, Janice Turck of Kingston, Jennie Serra of Saugerties and Vera Amarello of Kingston; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Good Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. The funeral procession will form on Holy Saturday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Prayers, Blessing and Final Commendation will be offered at St. Catherine Laboure Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 2 Jefferson Plaza, Poughkeepsie 12603-4027.
