Milton Dubin

Milton J. Dubin of Twin Ponds, Kingston died Thursday, June 28, 2007 at his home. He was 86 He was born in Odessa, Russia on December 5, 1920, a son of the late Solomon and Manya Teleshevsky Dubin. Mr. Dubin with his family, immigrated to Kingston from Turkey in 1928. A graduate of Kingston High School, class of 1939. Mr. Dubin was a US Army veteran of WW II and served in the Headquarters of the Combat Command A within the European Theater of Operations. He was a member of The 12th Armored Division which was secretly transferred from the Seventh Army to Gen. George Patton's Third Army and was known as 'The Mystery Division' and Mr. Dubin helped liberate two Nazi death camps, one of which was Dachau. On February 1, 1947 he married Ellen Kunst. Mr. Dubin owned and operated the family business, French Dye Works, Inc., located in Kingston until the early 1970’s. He also founded Ulster Uniform Service, Inc. on Broadway, Kingston in 1968. Mr. Dubin was a member of Temple Emanuel, Kingston. As an avid sportsman, he belonged to Wiltwyck Golf Club (for over 50 years), was a participant in several bowling leagues, played basketball, bridge and handball. He was a member of the Kingston Post 150 American Legion, the Rondout Lodge, F. & A.M and past president of B’nai Brith. One brother, Lt. David Dubin, died in WW II. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 60 years, are two sons David Dubin and his wife Nancy of Manhattan and Brian Dubin and his wife Fran Curtis of Manhattan and their son, Mr. Dubin's grandson, Michael Dubin, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at Temple Emanuel, 243 Albany Ave. Kingston on Sunday at 11:00AM. Rabbi Yael Romer will officiate. Interment will be in Montrepose Cemetery, Kingston. Memorial contributions may be made to Temple Emanuel, 243 Albany Ave., Kingston 12401 or Hospice, Inc., 34 Broadway, Kingston 12401. Shiva will be observed at the Dubin residence on Monday and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
