Ronald "Max" Rosen

Obituary: Ronald B. "Max" Rosen, 65, of Kingston, died Friday, August 30, 2013 at HealthAlliance Hospital Mary's Avenue Campus. Born in the Bronx, he was a son of the late Isidore & Gertrude Canter Rosen. Ron received his undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island and his masters degree from Suny New Paltz. He was a math teacher at Ellenville High School from 1983 until he retired in 2008. He enjoyed playing the drums and in previous years played in various bands. Ron is survived by his wife of 29 years, Laurie Longendyke Rosen of Kingston, whom he married on December 11, 1982, a daughter, Kate Rosen of Kingston, a sister, Penny Rosen of Larkspur, CA. Many brothers and sister in laws as well as many nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to thank Dr. Cutugno and his staff, as well as the nurses, nursing assistants and staff on 4 SMC at Benedictine Hospital. A funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Montrepose Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Melanoma International Foundation, 250 Mapleflower Rd, Glenmoore, PA 19343.
