Rose Aprea, 89, of Kingston, formerly of New Paltz, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Ferncliff Nursing Home.
Rose had spent the last 8 months of her life living very happily with her granddaughter, Christine Roosa and her two great grandchildren, Anjelena and Dezha with the help of her fianc James King.
Born in the Province of Naples, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Cosimo & Gaetana Schippa Marino.
Rose was an Administrative Assistant in City Hall, NY, NY before her marriage in 1952. After her marriage she remained home to raise her 7 children for most of her 57 years of marriage, returning to work for a brief time for Ulster County Department of Social Services. She was a lifelong member of the Sodality of Mary.
Rose is survived by her six children, Gerard Aprea and his wife Michelle of Round Top, Pascal Aprea and his wife Colleen of Wendell, NC, John Aprea and his wife Julie of Pine Bush, Anne Roosa of Cairo, Angela Aprea of Cairo and Mary Sauer and her husband Joe of Saugerties, her sister, Jean Tutora of Palm Beach, FL and her brother, Angelo Marino and his wife Helene of Lodi, NJ. 23 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her husband, Louis V. Aprea, a daughter, Louise Aprea Formanek and a brother, Pasquale Marino.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Friday, January 4, 2013 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM.
The funeral procession will form on Saturday at 9:30 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Novitiate Church in Round Top.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
