Sadie R. Hoy

Sadie R. Hoy of First Street, Connelly died Monday, February 14, 2011 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie. She was 79. She was born in Morehead City, NC, a daughter of the late William "Bud" and Polly Davis. On December 14, 1949 she married John N. Hoy, Jr. For 35 years, Sadie worked along side her husband, John, and her family running the family business, Certified Marine Service in Connelly. She enjoyed her pets, gardening, and baking for her family and customers. Beloved wife of John N. Hoy, Jr.; loving mother of John N. Hoy III of West Camp, Sharon Jones and her husband Fred of Sleightsburg, Richard and his wife Laurie of Mt. Tremper, Susan Newkirk and her husband Robert of Rhinebeck, Katherine Bruno and her husband Pat of Mt. Marion, Gloria Bonesteel and her husband Stephen of Ulster Park and William Hoy and his fiance Debra Allan of Ulster Park; sister of William Davis and his wife Mary of Cape Carteret, NC; sister in law of Warren and Doris Hoy of Denver, CO. Fifteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Fuenral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Cremation will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
