Sandra E. Wood

Sandra Ellen “Sandy” Wood, a lifelong Rosendale area resident, entered into rest September 27, 2005 ath the Benedictine Hospital in Kingston, NY. She was 53. She was born to Louis F. and Eunice L. Wiegert on September 5, 1952, both of whom predeceased her, Louis on August 11, 2000 and her mother in May 1999. An avid reader who counted the Harry Potter series amongst her favorites, Sandy was perhaps best known for her caring and altruistic disposition. A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her husband Wayne, to whom she was married on June 19, 1976; her son Jason, of Rosendale; her daughter Tayne and companion Alain “Bear” Petit; a brother, Louis B. Wiegert of Rosendale, a sister, Roxanne Wiegert of Accord and her cherished grandchildren, Tisha Marie Russell-Wood, Mia Jesse Ritter-Wood ages 9 and 6 respectiveley and Angeline Nita-Mae Wood-Petit age seven months. She is also survived by a niece, Heather Bagley and three nephews, Jakob, Jesse and Matthew Gnieting. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Friday from 4 – 8 pm at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave., Kingston. In liew of flowers, Sandra requested that donations be made to the Binnewater Union Free Chapel, located in her childhood hometown of Binnewater, NY.
