Selma H. Lang, 96, died comfortably on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Mountain Valley Manor, Kingston NY.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on June 27, 1915, she graduated from New Jersey Women's College. For many years she lived and was employed as an accountant in New York City.
After what she considered early retirement at age 75, she spent the next 20 years enjoying life and actively volunteering in Ulster County for many non-profit organizations including Angel Food East, the Hudson River Maritime Museum, Community Action and RSVP of Ulster County. Loved by many, her altruism touched those around her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting and spoiling her dogs.
Selma is survived by her daughters, Judith Schneller of Stone Ridge, NY and Eda Lepelcorn and husband Donald of Chapel Hill, NC; grandsons, Austin Schneller and his wife Sara Schneller of Stone Ridge, NY, Quinn Schneller and his wife Sara Schneller of Clifton Park, NY and Dean Schneller of Chesterfield, NY; great grandchildren Samantha, Rocco and Lucas. Milton Lang, her husband of 44 years, died in 1990.
Friends and family may call at the home of Judith Schneller on Sunday, May 20, 2012 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Interment, in Mt. Lebanon Cem., NJ was private. Memorial contributions may be made to Angel Food East, P.O. Box 3813, Kingston, NY 12402.
