Teresa Mary Schlanger

Teresa M. Schlanger of Yosman Towers, Broadway, Kingston died Sunday, October 10, 2005 at Benedictine Hospital. She was 69. She was born in East Kingston on July 6, 1936, a daughter of the late Thomas F. and Catherine Natale Gallo. Teresa was raised in East Kingston and for many years worked in area garment factories. Formerly of Rifton and Ponchockie, Teresa previously worked in the cafeteria at I.B.M., Kingston. She later worked in the dietary department at the Ulster County Infirmary. A resident of Yosman Towers, Teresa was active in the Yosman Towers Senior Citizens. Her husband, Melvin Schlanger, died November 17, 1989. One brother Frank Gallo died previously. Surviving are three sons Bob Schlanger and his companion Patti Longendyke of Kingston, Michael Schlanger and his wife Kathy of Lake Katrine, and Stephen Schlanger of Schenectady; a former daughter in law Karen Stewart; three brothers Anthony, Chris and Louis Gallo, all of Kingston; five grandchildren Meghan, Jason, Matthew, Christopher and Amber Schlanger; many nieces and nephews. Reposing at Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Tuesday 7-9 and Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral will be on Thursday at 9:00 AM from the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 at St. Colman's Church, East Kingston. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
