Thomas Fabbie

April 15, 1915 — November 16, 2003

Thomas Fabbie, 88, of Colonial Garden Apartments died Sunday, November 16, 2003 at Benedictine Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Kingston on April 15, 1915, a son of the late Anthony and Christina Fiore Fabbie. A decorated US Army veteran of WW II, Mr. Fabbie served in North Africa. He received the European-Africa-Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal with one Bronze Star. He was a member of the V.F.W. Joyce – Schirick Post 1386. A frequent resident of Riviera Beach, Florida, for many years he was employed by the City of Riviera Beach as a life guard. Mr. Fabbie was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church. Two sisters Mary Amendola and Margaret Papillo, and two brothers Frank and Joseph Fabbie all died previously. Surviving are two brothers Peter and Anthony Fabbie, both of Kingston; four sisters Theresa Landi of Kingston, Frances Polcastro of Sarasota, Florida, Josephine Lostumbo of Phoenix, Arizona and Susan Mackey of Kingston; many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church on Tuesday at 11:00 AM. Cremation will follow. Inurnment with military honors by Joyce-Schirick Post 1386 Color Guard will be on Friday at 12:00 PM at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church Memorial Fund, 242 Wall St., Kingston, NY 12401.
