Thomas Malone of Sawkill Road died Monday, June 14, 2004 at home. He was 80.
He was born May 8, 1924 in Kingston, a son of the late Michael and Amy Shelly Malone.
Mr. Malone served in the army during WW II. He was a member of Tillson Post 129 American Legion. He was a former town justice in the Town of Kingston and had served as Town of Kingston Highway Superintendent. He was a founding member of the Sawkill Fire Department and a founding member of the Hidden Valley Hunting Lodge. He was a retired truck driver for the fomer Miron Building Supply.
He was married to Virginia McColgan Malone who died December 6, 1989.
Surviving in addition to his devoted companion Missy are one son, Richard and his wife Ruth of Town of Ulster, two daughters, Colleen Heilman and her husband Ronald of Mississippi, Virginia Chambers and her husband Richard of Lake Katrine, two brothers Joseph Malone and Donald Malone, and five grandchildren, Thomas and Michael Malone, Richard Chambers Jr. and Michelle and Katie-Lyn Chambers. Severa nieces and nephews also survive.
Two brothers, James and Daniel and two sisters Mary and Amy Malone all died previously.
Reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral procession will form at the funeral home on Friday at 9:15 am and process to St. Catherine Laboure Church in Lake Katrine for a 10:00 am funeral Mass. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
