William Oehler

William W. Oehler, 61, of Kingston, died Monday, May 28, 2018 at HealthAlliance Hospital Broadway Campus. Born in Kingston, Bill was the son of the late William J. & Ingrid Mitzlaff. Bill Oehler, aka "Big Bill", was a 6'4" Gentle Giant, with a heart as big as the sky. He loved baseball, music, good food, a good game of Scrabble, and everyone he met. He didn't have much, but he'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He suffered tremendously, yet he never complained. He was musically inclined and taught himself how to play Piano, Accordion, and Harmonica. He could solve a Rubics Cube in no time flat. He was famous for his Baseball Statistics and the way he ran the dishwashing system at the family's former place of business, "Oehler's Mountain Lodge". Everybody loved Big Bill, everybody. Bill is survived by his sister, Connie Tomlinson and her husband Peter of Hurley, a niece, Andrea Allen of Tillson and many friends at Chizs Heart Street. Bill will be reposing at the Simpson-Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave on Friday, June 1, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 pm. A procession will follow to Redeemer Lutheran Church, where a funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Chiz's Heart Street, where Bill resided under the ever loving watch of Chiz, herself, for many years. The link for that :www.chizsheartstreet.org
