Abe Shakhat

Abe Shakhat of Seven Greens, Town of Ulster died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Kingston Hospital. He was 92. He was born in New York City, a son of the late Morris and Eva Atnov Shakhat. For many years Abe worked with his father in the family business selling mens and boys clothing. He retired from Popular Boy Clothes, Inc. in 1975. Formerly of Yonkers, he moved to this area in 1977. An avid tennis player, Mr. Shakhat played frequently at the S.U.N.Y. New Paltz campus. He previously belonged to the New Paltz Tennis Club and played in area tournaments. There are no funeral arrangements planned.
